LA Friday Coffee had a great night of food , conversation and strolling during the June edition of Magnolia Park’s Ladies and Gents Night Out in Burbank. This monthly event involves tons of stores and restaurants, live music and over 25 food trucks all laid out along Magnolia Boulevard from Hollywood Way to California Street.
The LA Friday Coffee group met up at Romancing the Bean, a nice coffee house along the route. We drank coffee and brought back the food we had wandered off to find at the various food trucks. Wings seemed to be very popular among the group, along with shave ice and, off all things, Tater Tots!
Here are a collection of photos I took during the evening to give you a feeling for the event and possibly entice you to check it out for yourself. The July date is Friday, July 25, 2014. You can find out all about this event, and others sponsored by Magnolia Park on their Facebook page.

Here are a few photos from our most recent LA Friday Coffee held at the Farmers Market at 3rd and Fairfax. This historical location is always a big hit with folks and we ended up with a nice-sized crowd for the evening. We ended up staying a little later than usual with a short walk through The Grove and some book shopping at Barnes and Noble.

LA Friday Coffee was off to the LA County Museum of Art to catch the last days of the exhibit, Olmec: Colossal Masterworks of Ancient Mexico. It was a small, yet amazing exhibit including 2 colossal head sculptures that epitomize the Olmec arts. I felt the exhibit was just the right size. You didn’t feel the need to dash from exhibit to exhibit, but could take your time to enjoy each piece and spend a few minutes contemplating the culture that created them.
I also took 3 panorama pictures with the 360 Panorama iPhone app to give you a feeling of the overall gallery. Click to see each full size.

We had a great time at Zeli in Vroman’s Bookstore last night. It was a long evening with discussions about typography, fonts, teaching, students, fire trucks, the real meaning of “short circuit”, carpool lanes, telecommuting and the lack thereof, coffee, italian sodas, digital cameras, literature, geekiness in all its forms, business and much much more!
Other attendees, please chime in on any topics I may have missed in the comments.
